About me

My name is Xanthe and I'm a fashion blogger in the virtual world of Second Life. I started this blog on 10th May 2013 and have since been posting free, cheap and affordable outfits on a daily basis, because I believe that quality fashion shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg!
This tumblr is a side blog to my main Wordpress blog where I like to be a little more social.

The other day, my friend Amelie created her first skin. It was very good for her first skin and I loved it. She has unfortunately been receiving feedback saying she is a copybot and she copybotted Woomi (owner of Amitomo’s) skins.

Blair belongs to Amitomo and Hyori belongs to Hello, Rabbit!.

Upon receiving the first message, Amelie uploaded a screenshot from her photoshop showing all of the layers in Hyori as proof that she did not copybot the Blair skin. She even sent the ORIGINAL PSD file to Woomi to look at showing all of the layers.

•Hyori uses the Starlight template skin as a base, so the body is obviously different to Blair•

After seeing the PSD files, Woomi still claims that Amelie copied Blair’s eyes. Which is untrue. Amelie loved Amitomo’s skins when they were still open, she bought blair for herself. It is likely that Amelie DREW INSPIRATION from Blair but the differences are just too great to say she copied.

Yes, Hyori has puffy eyes. But there is no more evidence to say she COPIED the eyes directly. It’s like saying “Hyori has a nose, therefore she’s copying Al Vulo, Glam Affair, Essences, Sugar Garden etc.” Amelie is basically being told that her skin cannot have puffy eyes because Woomi did it first, which is ridiculous.

•Blair has eyelashes, Hyori does not.
•Hyori’s eyeliner is darker, thicker, longer and more curved than Blair.
•Blair’s lower lids are puffier looking than Hyori’s
•Even the shape of the shadow on the eyebags is different with Blair’s being thicker as it goes to the centre.

Woomi is incorrect in saying Amelie copied the eyes, even when she has the PSD files open on her computer as she writes such things.

Woomi’s friends have since been harassing Amelie on this flickr photo; www.flickr.com/photos/ameliefashion/9654334337/ (the screenshop WIP) telling her over and over that she is a copybot and it isn’t her own work. Even though they can see above in photoshop that Amelie drew every piece stroke by stroke. And now they will not stop because Woomi incorrectly said that Hyori has Blair’s eyes. One person even went as far as to create a new flickr account just to defame Amelie and drag her work through the dirt.

Amelie has dealt with this extremely well. She doesn’t want any trouble with Woomi as she respects her and even says she will take down the skin if Woomi tells her to. And yet Amelie doesn’t deserve to have to take it down because a group of people say that her hard work is copied.

In the images you will see I have ringed the differences and explained how Blair’s eyes differ from Hyori’s eyes.

I’m very sad to have to make this because I understand that Woomi has been a victim of copybotting before, which is why Amitomo is closed. But she is being paranoid and that is having a negative affect on Amelie’s hard work. I HAD respect for Woomi because I too liked her skins, but she is ignoring the proof that has been sent to her because she has convinced herself that Amelie is another copybot. I understand that Woomi is angry that her store had to close because of copybots, but she has no right to take her anger out on people who have produced something original and have not copied her at all.

Woomi’s friends will not leave Amelie alone because Woomi says she is copying, even though there is enough proof to say that she did no such thing. They are ignoring all of the evidence just because ONE PERSON has made an incorrect assumption.

I am making this to show you all that Amelie DID NOT copy Woomi’s skin. Amelie does not deserve all the hate she is getting for this and she is a very kind, genuine person who has big plans to make a successful skin and tattoo business. But her ambitions are being trampled at the first hurdle because some people cannot open their eyes to the truth.
I make this also because Woomi said she is reporting the issue to LL. So I want to show you all that Blair is very different from Hyori.

Anyway, I’m sorry it’s so long, but I’ve always been very passionate about the issue of copying and originality in SL.
